The Intelligence and Security Committee is a very important piece of the security architecture of New Zealand. It is a body where information that pertains to the best interests of all New Zealanders is able to be considered by, generally, senior politicians from this House. The Intelligence and Security Committee of Parliament (ISC) was first established by the Intelligence Services Act to examine the policy, administration and expenditure of the Security Service, Secret Intelligence Service (SIS), and the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ).
