VMware to IPO this Summer

VMware and it's parent company EMC have seen revenue growth in triple digits every year for at least the last two years. In VMware's ninth year of operaton, they've decided to go IPO. So, if you're the type to play the market, get in on the ground floor.

Check out the announcement below the fold.

Here's the announcement from http://www.vmware.com/company/ipo_announcement.html?elq=1E9B9B5204854730A27A3A5626A576C3. Check the link for more information.

In the nine amazing years since we founded VMware, a new software category that is changing the industry has emerged. VMware Workstation 1.0, our very first product released eight years ago, established the concept of virtualization on industry-standard systems and introduced today's industry to the compelling value that virtualization provides. Since then, VMware has continued to deliver a complete suite of desktop and server products that are known for their quality, innovation, and great customer value. VMware products have cumulatively saved users billions of dollars in power, space cooling, hardware, reduced downtime, and general server and desktop manageability.

It gives me great pleasure to announce another important milestone for VMware - EMC announced today that it is planning to put 10% of VMware into the public market sometime this summer.
